Art Lab: Insect Patterns for 8-12 years old Kids in Kitchener Explore the World through Art Art is one of the most exciting ways to explore science! In this 4-week Art Lab, children will discover the fascinating world of insects through hands-on mixed-media projects while learning about symmetry, camouflage, life cycles, pollination, adaptation, and the incredible diversity of insects. Through observation, drawing, and creative exploration, students develop scientific curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for some of nature's most amazing creatures. Every Art Lab features brand-new themes, projects, and creative challenges, making each course exciting for both new and returning students. 📍 Yulia ArtSpace – Downtown Kitchener 🎨 Ages 8–12 | All Levels Welcome 🗓 Wednesdays | September 16 – October 7, 2026 🕠 5:30–6:30 PM 🎟 4 Classes | All Supplies Included 🎨 What You'll Explore 🦋 Butterflies — Explore symmetry, colorful wing patterns, camouflage, and the butterfly life cycle. 🪲 Beetles — Discover protective wing covers, amazing textures, metallic colors, and the incredible diversity of beetles. 🐝 Bees & Pollinators — Learn how bees, bumblebees, and other pollinators help plants grow while creating artwork inspired by flowers and insects. 🦗 Dragonflies & Grasshoppers — Explore transparent wings, powerful jumping legs, movement, and amazing insect adaptations. 🎨 Mixed Media Exploration — Work with a variety of art materials while developing observation skills, scientific curiosity, and creative expression. ✨ Structure + Freedom Each class includes clear step-by-step guidance while encouraging children to observe closely, experiment with different materials, and create artwork inspired by the natural world. 🏡 Bright, Welcoming Studio Our downtown Kitchener studio is a welcoming place where children can explore, create, and enjoy learning in a calm and supportive environment. 👩🎨 Small Groups + Individual Guidance With small class sizes, every child receives personal attention, encouragement, and support throughout each project. 🤝 Creativity + Community Children share ideas, explore science through art, build confidence, and discover the joy of learning together in a creative and supportive group.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation: No refunds! Art credit is available for the next classes/camps. Late registrations are accepted. Art classes - you can join us any time and pay for the remaining classes or have make-up classes. If you miss a class during a session, you'll have a make-up class. Art camps - you can register during an art camp week for the remaining day(s) or half-day(s). If minimum participant numbers have not been reached by 1 week before the start of Art classes/camp, you will be notified and Art classes/camp will need to be canceled. You will get a refund or you may transfer your payment to other classes/camps.
