Plein Air Festival is over. I was happy to participate in it! It was not easy.
First evening I failed completely. When you have a break of painting outside after a long cold time it's really hard to come back. Anyway I got experience and a lesson for the next day.
Friday was a sunny and windy day. It was pretty difficult to find a scene. I found some locations last week but they did not work because of a few reasons. I should have stayed in the middle of the road if I wanted to capture a particular point of view in downtown Elora. Magnolia which I planned to paint had not bloomed yet. It's very slow spring this year! Finally I stopped in Bissel park where it was quiet and beautiful. I loved a willow tree a with new bright yellow-green foliage.
The result of this day:
On Saturday I participated in Quick Paint Contest in downtown Fergus. It was cold morning brrr! I felt very lazy to wake up and drive to Fergus. But I did it and despite of our weather I painted a nice piece which was sold on the following Art show and sale . I am very happy about that!
In addition we had an bbq artist's party at home of one hospitable Fergus artist. It was really fun and I was glad to meet and talk with some artists from Guelph!
Sunday was the day of Art Show and Sale and award ceremony where we enjoyed to see 188 paintings made by 69 artists who participated in the Festival. Pastel artist Dalibor Dejanovic from Toronto won the first prize. I love his works!

Volunteer photographer Gordon Harris did a great job as well as many volunteers and Elora Center of Arts who organized this perfect event!
Thank you so much!
I am looking forward to participate in it next year!
