You may think or feel...
-
“I can’t draw.”
-
“I don’t have talent.”
-
“I’m not artistic enough.”
-
“I don’t know how to start.”
-
“I don’t know what to draw.”
-
“I don’t know what materials to buy.”
-
“I haven’t drawn since childhood.”
-
“I’m afraid of making mistakes.”
-
“I don’t have enough time for creativity.”
-
“I want to create regularly, but can’t stay consistent.”
-
“I tried classes or tutorials before, but it never really worked for me.”
-
“I want a creative hobby, but don’t know how to make it part of my life.”
-
“I want creativity to feel simple and enjoyable.”
If these thoughts feel familiar, you’re not alone.

I know these feelings and thoughts very well, because I’ve experienced them myself too — and so have many adults.

Life gets busy.
Work, family, responsibilities, pressure, exhaustion, perfectionism, constant rushing…

Creativity often becomes “something for later,” even when we deeply miss it.

There’s nothing wrong with you.
Adult life can make creativity feel surprisingly difficult.

That’s exactly why I created SketchSpace.
Creativity can fit into busy adult life
Over time, your thoughts and feelings around creativity begin to change:
-
“I can draw.”
-
“Creativity feels approachable and enjoyable.”
-
“I know how to begin.”
-
“I have simple ideas and prompts to start with.”
-
“I can create with simple, accessible materials.”
-
“It feels good to draw again.”
-
“Mistakes feel less stressful and more part of the process.”
-
“Creativity fits into my real adult life.”
-
“I create more regularly and naturally.”
-
“Creative practice feels calming and enjoyable.”
-
“I found an approach that works for me.”
-
“I have a creative hobby that feels realistic and sustainable.”
-
“Creativity feels simple, calming, and inspiring.”

How SketchSpace helps
SketchSpace helps creativity feel simpler, calmer, and more approachable in real adult life.

-
No pressure.
-
No perfectionism.
-
No need to “be talented.”

Just small creative steps, gentle guidance, and supportive practice that helps creativity slowly become part of everyday life again.
The idea behind SketchSpace started very personally
I’m Yulia — a creative explorer, art educator, and founder of Yulia ArtSpace in Canada, where my team and I have been teaching adults and children for many years.

For most of my adult life, I was trying to balance everything:
university, work, immigration, raising children, learning English, building a new life, and figuring out where I belonged.

At the same time, I kept feeling drawn to creativity.
But for a long time, I thought creative work had to be something more serious, more professional, or more “official” to really matter.
I thought you needed the perfect education, more time, more focus, or one clear artistic direction.

Over time, I realized something much simpler:
Creativity doesn’t have to exist separately from real life.
Instead of waiting for the “perfect time” or trying to do everything “seriously enough,” I slowly allowed myself to experiment more freely.

I started making smaller sketches that could realistically fit into busy adult life — quick drawings, mixed media experiments, color studies, sketchbook pages, and creative exploration that felt enjoyable, flexible, and alive.
And I realized that creativity doesn’t always need huge blocks of time or perfect conditions to become meaningful.

Through teaching adults, I also discovered that many people were searching for the same thing:
a realistic, enjoyable, and supportive way to bring creativity into everyday life while continuing to grow and explore.

That idea slowly became the foundation of my “structure + freedom” approach — combining gentle guidance with space for experimentation, observation, exploration, and personal expression.

SketchSpace grew naturally from this philosophy:
a supportive, creative space for busy adults who want creativity to feel realistic, calming, sustainable, and part of real everyday life.
