Our Weaving Classes introduce kids to the beauty of yarn, texture, color, and pattern — transforming simple materials into unique woven artworks. ✨ Each class brings a creative surprise, inviting children to explore soft yarns, vibrant colors, and new ways to combine them through weaving. The gentle, rhythmic process helps kids relax, focus, and express their imagination through hands-on creation. 🎨 Soft Yarn, Texture & Color Children learn the basics of weaving using soft, colorful yarns and simple looms. They experiment with how colors interact, how texture creates depth, and how repeated patterns form beautiful designs. Each artwork is a joyful mix of color harmony, play, and discovery. 🧠 Creative Thinking, Confidence & Fine Motor Skills Weaving encourages patience, focus, and creative problem-solving while strengthening fine motor coordination and hand–eye control. As kids see their projects take shape thread by thread, they develop dexterity and precision in a fun, relaxing way. Each woven piece builds confidence and a sense of pride in creating something by hand. The process celebrates creativity — not perfection — and helps every child find their own artistic rhythm. 🧶 Materials We use paper, yarns, and cardboard looms — ideal for children to explore freely through touch and color. All supplies are included. 🏡 Welcoming, Inspiring Studio Our bright downtown Kitchener studio offers a warm, friendly space where creativity feels natural and joyful. With 5–10 students per group, every child receives personal guidance and space to explore their own ideas. 👩‍🎨 Art Instructor: Marien de Freitas Marien gently guides each child’s creative process, demonstrating techniques when needed and encouraging imagination, play, and self-expression through color and texture. 🤝 Art + Community Art class is more than making — it’s about connection. Kids share ideas, exchange inspiration, and celebrate each other’s creativity, becoming part of a friendly, supportive art community that values imagination and kindness. 📸 Photos are examples for inspiration — every weaving will be one-of-a-kind!
