Our Spring Art Classes are open for registration! Interested? We are offering lessons at both our Guelph and Kitchener locations for a wide range of ages, with no previous experience required.

Art Classes For Kids

Do you have a little artist at home? Are you looking to help nurture your child's creative side and engage them in stimulating activities which support growth and development? Well, look no further, as we have eight different opportunities for kids interested in art classes!

For children aged 4 - 5, there is one class available which will run Wednesdays evenings, beginning April 17, at our Kitchener location. For children within the age groups of 6 - 8 and 9 - 12, there are four classes available at our Kitchener location, and two at our Guelph location. Kitchener classes are available on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Guelph classes are available Thursday evenings.

We also have a specialty class available for children between the ages of 9 - 12. This is our 3D Media Sculpture Course, which will be available at our Kitchener location every Wednesday evening, beginning April 17.

During these classes, children will have the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of artistic materials. This includes acrylic and watercolour paints, oil pastels, coloured pencils, markers, mixed media, and more. Through these materials, they will get to experience the tangibility of art and see their unique ideas and artistic visions brought to life in physical forms.

Furthermore, these courses and the use of these materials encourage the development of important physical and cognitive skills, such as fine-motor control, hand eye coordination, creative expression, imaginative thinking, and problem solving skills. Additionally, working in positive, encouraging, creative environments can help your child build a sense of self confidence and independence.

Overall, all of these skills can be essential in assisting your child in developing a strong foundation for their growth and development. Art is a wonderful way for them to engage in an activity that is both beneficial to them and will bring them joy.

Art Classes For Teens

Currently, we have two different opportunities for teens aged 12+ who are interested in taking art classes this spring session. Both of these opportunities are sketching courses. The first of these classes takes place on Monday evenings at our Kitchener location, beginning April 15, while the second occurs at our Guelph location on Thursday evenings, beginning May 2.

During these classes, students will have the opportunity to hone their sketching skills and learn how to transfer those skills to other projects. They will be lead through guided lessons by an experienced instructor and will learn about different sketching techniques and materials. They will also have the chance to develop their critical thinking skills and their ability to problem solve creatively.

In addition to accumulating technical skills, many teens have found that engaging in art helps to relieve stress and improves their ability to focus. Art provides a healthy outlet for the articulation of feelings and can be a safe space for teens to express themselves.

Art Classes For Adults

For the artistically inclined adults, we have one class available; a sketching course that will run Tuesday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30 at our Kitchener location, beginning April 30.

This course is a perfect chance to learn new skills or improve upon skills you already have. During the course, we will cover a range of related topics, including the different elements of art, various sketching techniques and styles, how to utilize multiple sketching materials, and more. Students will also learn how to draw a wide range of subjects, such as people, objects, environments, and landscapes.

We also feel that it is important to note that for adults, regularly engaging in a hobby such as art can be incredibly beneficial. Engaging in hobbies can assist you in connecting to others and building a community, relaxing, finding pleasure in activities outside of work and home responsibilities, and challenging yourself both cognitively and physically. Art, specifically, has been linked to the improvement of memory, concentration, patience, and resilience. Overall, it is a wonderful opportunity to enrich your everyday life and build new skills!
